Eddy Bengtsson Wiki

Eddy Bengtsson is a two-time Greco-Roman 120 kg olympian (in 2000 and 2004.) In MMA, he is mostly known for a controversial loss to Aleksander Emelianenko in which he was knocked out by a seemingly weak punch early in the fight. He commented it himself afterwards by saying the punch did feel weak but that "from the eyes it was black" and "I couldn't imagine the hit was so hard... but my head wasn't strong enough". In 2012 he commented on the fight again with the words: "It was too much for me to face someone like him. It was a total collapse, I didn't want to be there. I was way too fresh."

After that fight he retired, only to come back 1 year later, earning a victory only 50 seconds into the first round, which pleased his hometown crowd in Gothenburg.
He is now expected to face Dmitry Poberezhets for The Zone FC heavyweight title at The Zone FC 11: Survival.
